The Pre-Nationals slugged their way to a 10-6 win in game five, staving off elimination but down in the series three games to two.
Ernie Lombardi's grand slam in the sixth made the score 7-2. Rogers Hornsby and Johnny Mize hit back to back homers in the sixth.
Rube Marquard worked 8 2/3 innings for the second time in the series for the win. Rube Waddell gave up seven runs on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings for his second loss in the series.

A great pitching matchup and Pete Alexander went the distance as the Pre-Nationals won 3-1 and force a final game seven with the Centurians.
Alexander allowed seven hits and struck out eight. Johnny Mize hit his fourth home run of the series to take a 3-1 lead in the fifth.

The Pre-Nationals come back from a three games to one deficit and beat the Centurians three in a row to win the series.
Chuck Klein got it going with a first-inning three-run homer off Kid Nichols. Sam Crawford and Honus Wagner drove in runs in the sixth to make the score 3-2.
At 4-2, the Pre-Nationals scored an unearned run in the seventh, then three more unearned runs in the eighth. Christy Mathewson didn't get the support as Wagner and Nap Lajoie had two errors apiece.
Dazzy Vance bounced back from a three-inning outing in game three to pitch seven innings for the win. Dizzy Dean wrapped it up with his 12th save of the tournament.

A great opening game as Kansas City takes game one 5-2 over the Pre-Americans.
Verdell Mathis pitched into the seventh to earn his first win of the tournament, and Ray Brown finished it off for his first save.
Red Ruffing threw seven innings in his first start of the tournament.
Bonnie Serrell led off the fifth with a home run to break a scoreless game. The Monarchs added two more runs after two out on a triple by Wild Bill Wright and a single by Turkey Stearnes.
Earl Averill broke up the shutout with a pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the seventh. Bobby Doerr homered in the eighth but the Pre-Americans couldn't complete the comeback.

Leon Day (7-3) pitched a complete game as the Monarchs pounded the Pre-Americans. Spoony Palm hit two home runs and had five RBI. Willie Wells had four hits and three RBI.
Game 4
Pre-Americans 7, Kansas City 1
Red Faber (3-1) gave the Pre-Americans a complete game in a 7-1 win that tied the series two games apiece. Babe Ruth and Joe Cronin each had two RBI.
Game 5
Pre-Americans 11, Kansas City 5
A seven-run first inning by the Pre-Americans carried them to an 11-5 win and a 3-2 lead in the series. Charlie Gehringer had three hits and two RBI. Ted Lyons (6-3) started for the first time in the tournament and went seven innings for the win.
Game 6
Pre-Americans 5, Kansas City 4 (10 inn)
A nail-biting game six saw Joe DiMaggio hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th to win the game and the series for the Pre-Americans. Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig also hit home runs.

A 3-1 game after six innings turned into a slugfest and the Left Outers barely held off the Homestead Grays to win game one 8-7.
Harry Heilmann's three-run homer gave the Left Outers a 3-1 lead. Frank Robinson belted a three-run shot to take a 7-1 lead.
The Grays came back with a grand slam by Mule Suttles off reliever Robin Roberts. Chick Hafey went deep off Sam Streeter in the eighth, and that turned out to be pivotal as Washington made the score 8-7 in the top of the ninth with one out. Roberts finally wrapped this one up to give Steve Carlton his ninth win.
Slim Jones struck out 11 in six innings and took the loss for Washington.

Jimmie Foxx homered and drove in five runs for the Left Outers. Harry Heilmann had three hits to raise his tournament average to .420.
The Left Outers scored runs off four different pitchers. Big Bill Foster was blasted for eight runs on 10 hits in four innings. Early Wynn lasted six innings to get the win, allowing six runs on 11 hits.
