A great series opener that went 12 innings before the Post Nationals won 6-5.

The Grays tied the game 5-5 on a two-run homer by Josh Gibson that came after an error in leftfield by Pete Rose.

In the bottom of the 12th, Joe Morgan singled and stole second. Mike Schmidt, who had entered as a defensive replacement for Eddie Mathews, singled to rightfield. Morgan beat the throw home from Chino Smith to win the game.

Willie Mays and Hank Aaron hit back to back home runs in the first inning for the Post Nationals. Sandy Koufax pitched nine innings in the no-decision, allowing three earned runs on seven hits with 13 strikeouts. Slim Jones worked four scoreless innnings of relief for the Grays.

Juan Marichal went the distance and Eddie Mathews hit two home runs in a 7-2 win for the Post Nationals. They lead the series two games to none.

Big Bill Foster gave up three runs in seven innings. Roosevelt Davis allowed four runs and three homers in the bottom of the eighth. Mathews and Eddie Banks went deep back to back, and Roy Campanella hit a two-run shot.

Bell allowed home runs to Hank Aaron and Ernie Banks. Willard Brown, Mule Suttles and Cool Papa Bell all went deep for Washington.

A great comeback by the Post Nationals but Washington wins in the bottm of the ninth to tie the series at two games apiece.

An error by Bob Gibson and a passed ball by Roy Campanella sent the game-winning run home for the Homestread Grays.

Willard Brown hit his fourth home run of the series for the Grays. Billy Williams and Roberto Clemente each collected a pinch-hit home run for the Nationals.

Koufax pitched nine innings in game one, but it went extras. He fanned 12 and allowed just five hits.

Johnny Bench hit a three-run homer off Max Manning in the fifth inning. Cool Papa Bell's solo shot was the only run allowed by Koufax.

Big Bill Foster went into the eighth inning with a shutout for the Grays. He ran into trouble but Webster McDonald got the final out with the bases loaded.

Roosevelt Davis gave up a two-run bomb to Mike Schmidt that tied the game in the bottom of the ninth.

One unearned run cost the Left Outers. In the first inning Chick Hafey rolled a 19 on a 1-18 home run split.

Bill Holland gave up a pinch-hit two-run homer to Enos Slaughter that put the Left Outers ahead 5-4. Frank Wickware came in and allowed six more runs. Goose Goslin capped the frame with a three-run homer.

An awesome opening game that went 12 innings with great pitching and defense. Sam Thompson drove in George Davis with the winning for the Old Timers as they take a 1-0 lead in the series.

The Old Timers left 14 men on base while Pittsburgh left 10 men on base. The Old Timers tied the game 1-1 in the sixth but Dick Redding got out a two-out, bases loaded jame. They had two men on in the ninth and led off the 10th and 11th with doubles but couldn't score.

The Crawfords were held to seven hits for the game. Al Spalding went nine, allowing three hits and none after John Beckwith homered in the fourth. The Old Timers used all five position players they have on the bench.

Keefe allowed one run in the top of third on a single, stolen base and another single. He gave up one hit the next six innings.

Buck Ewing tied the game with a base hit in the bottom of the fourth, and King Kelly's two-run single gave the Old Timers the lead.

The Old Timers blew a chance to take a 3-0 lead in the series. The Pittsburgh Crawfords battled back and scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh and went on to win 10-8.

Buck Ewing hit a grand slam in the top of the first to give the Old Timers a 5-0 lead. Pittsburgh stayed alive with four runs in its first at-bat. Pittsburgh trailed 8-4 but scored five runs off Old Hoss Radbourn in the bottom of the seventh. Bullet Joe Rogan came off the bench to drive in two runs to take the lead.
