A tremendous game one that needed 13 innings before the Post Americans edged Kansas City 6-5.
A two-run single by George Kell in the top of the ninth off Chet Brewer put the Post Americans ahead 5-4. The Monarchs forced extra innings with a double by Ray Dandridge and single from Turkey Stearnes.
Stearnes led off the bottom of the 12th with a double and was on third base with one out. Rollie Fingers left him there.
Top 13, George Brett singled and Fingers put down the sacrifice bunt. Nellie Fox drove in the go-ahead run with a single.
Fingers pitched four innings for the win, giving up two hits and striking out three. Hilton Smith took the loss in two innings, allowing three hits and one run.
Nolan Ryan went the first five innings, striking out eight and allowing four runs on four hits. Leroy Matlock saw his win disappear, but threw 8 1/3 innings and was charged with five runs on 12 hits with five walks and five strikeouts.

The Post Americans take a 2-0 lead in the series behind excellent pitching in a 5-1 win over the Kansas City Monarchs.
Bob Feller went six innings, allowing one run on five hits. Hal Newhouser threw the last three frames for the save.
A bases loaded walk issued to Bonnie Serrell tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth for the Monarchs. Ted Williams hit a two-run homer in the fifth, and Larry Doby's two-run double in the seventh gave the Post Americans a cushion.

Kansas City fell behind 3-0, but battled back and a grand slam by Willie Wells helped them to an 11-6 win over the Post Americans, and they now trail the series two games to one.
Wells hit two home runs and drove in five. Satchel Paige went the distance, allowing four earned runs on 12 hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Whitey Ford allowed three solo home runs in taking the loss. Hoyt Wilhelm came in for Catfish Hunter with the bases loaded and yielded the grand slam in the eighth.

There weren't many hits in game four, but three home runs by the Post Americans gave them an 8-1 win and a three games to one lead in the series against Kansas City.
Mickey Mantle hit two home runs and had five RBI. Robin Yount added a three-run roundtripper. Jim Palmer pitched a complete game, allowing only four hits and a solo shot to Buck Leonard.

Leroy Matlock came through with a complete game in a 6-1 win over the Post Americans. Kansas City still trails the series three games to two.
Willie Wells homered off Nolan Ryan in the fourth to take a 2-1 lead. Wells hit a second home run off Catfish Hunter. The Monarchs hit three homers off Hunter in two inings.

In a must-win situation, Kansas City powered its way to a 13-10 victory over the Post Americans to force a final game seven.
Rap Dixon hit a triple, two home runs, and had six RBI for the Monarchs. Willie Wells hit his fifth homer of the series and Bonnie Serrell had four RBI.
Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra homered for the Post Americans. Brooks Robinson came off the bench and went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.
Ray Brown lasted six innings for the win. Bob Feller gave up nine runs in three innings.

The Kansas City Monarchs pull off the come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the series in seven games, downing the Post Americans 4-3 in 11 innings in game seven.
Kansas City picked up unearned runs in the second and fourth innings. A two-out triple by Mickey Mantle got the Post Americans on the board. They took a 3-2 lead in the seventh on George Brett's single off reliever Verdell Mathis.
The Monarchs tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth on a triple by Buck Leonard. Hoyt Wilhelm left him on third base.
Mantle threw Rap Dixon out at the plate in the bottom of the 10th. In the 11th, Tubby Scales, Ray Dandridge and Turkey Stearnes all singled off Catfish Hunter to win the game and the series.

An offensive explosion to the toon of 10 runs in the fifth inning gave the Post Nationals a 10-5 win in game one over the Left Outers.
Jimmie Foxx and Mickey Cochrane each hit two home runs for the Left Outers. The Post Nationals erased a 4-0 deficit with 10 runs in the fifth off Robin Robers and Ferguson Jenkins.
An error on Arky Vaughn started the frame. Pete Rose hit a bases-loaded single to drive in two runs. Eddie Mathews hit a grand slam to end the day for Roberts. Jenkins came on and allowed a three-run homer to Ernie Banks.

A crazy ending as the Post Nationals give up a 5-0 lead only to win in the bottom of the ninth 7-6 and take a two games to none lead in the series.
Hank Aaron and Ernie Banks hit back to back home runs in the first inning as the Post Nationals took a 5-0 lead against Don Sutton, who lasted just two innings.
Juan Marichal left with a 5-3 lead after seven innings. Bob Gibson blew the save in the ninth after Willie McCovey's second home run of the game and a sacrifice fly by Lou Boudreau.
Bob Lemon's third inning of work, the bottom of the ninth, didn't go well. Two walks and an error setup Orlando Cepeda for a pinch-hit two-run single to give the Post Nationals the win.

Harry Heilmann had two RBI for the Left Outers, and an unearned run off Jim Bunning tied the game 3-3 in the eight.
Roy Campanella and Mike Schmidt went back to back off Early Wynn for a 5-3 lead, and Phil Niekro recorded his fourth save.
