I see a 4 games to 2 win for Centurians. I have a feeling that Detroit will not be all that outplayed by the team with the most wins!

Round 6 Best of Seven Series
Detroit Stars (7-19) vs. The Centurians (16-15)
Game 1
Detroit Stars 5, Centurians 2

WP: J. Williams (3-4) LP: C. Young (2-3) HR: O. Charleston (4), B. Mackey (6)
The underdog Detroit Stars meant business in game one as they grab a 5-2 win.
Smokey Joe Williams was the man, pitching a two-hitter. After a hit batsman and walk in the fourth, a two-out triple by Jimmy Collins put the Centurians on the board as they trailed 3-2. Oscar Charleston and Biz Mackey hit solo home runs off Cy Young in the seventh for a 5-2 lead.
The only other hit Williams allowed was a bunt single to Young. Williams retired the last 15 batters of the game.
Charleston went 3 for 4 with three RBI. Judy Johnson had two doubles for the Stars.
In round four, the Stars won three in a row to beat the Dead Ballers in seven games. The last series saw Detroit swept by the Pre-Americans.
The Centurians entered the series batting .317 as a team, but saw that drop to .311.

Christy Mathewson took a no-hitter into the eighth inning as the Centurians topped the Detroit Stars 4-1 and even the series at two games apiece.
Mathewson rolled to the eighth inning, allowing no hits and no walks until that frame. Two errors behind him kept it from being a perfect game to that point. He walked Judy Johnson, then Pop Lloyd dropped a single over the infield to break up the no-hitter. After a fielder's choice, pinch-hitter Ghost Marcelle singled to to make the score 4-1.
Rube Currie pitched well for the Stars but took the loss, giving up three runs on six hits in six innings. Jesse Burkett hit a two-run homer in the first, and drove in all four runs for the Centurians.

Your 4 games to 2 prediction could come true. Series tied 2-2, now it's a best of three games. Pretty good pitching from both teams. Both ballparks are HR stadiums but very few hit out so far. Scoring for the series is 14-12 in favor of the Centurians.

Round 6 Best of Seven Series
Detroit Stars (7-19) vs. The Centurians (16-15)
Game 5
Detroit Stars 6, Centurians 5
Centurians 320 000 000 - 5 9 1 Detroit Stars 000 000 402 - 6 15 0
WP: J. Donaldson (1-1) LP: V. Willis (1-5)
Another incredible game between these teams. The Stars came back with six runs the last three innings to stun the Centurians 6-5 and take a three games to two lead in the series.
The Centurians scored five runs the first two innings off Smokey Joe Williams. Jimmy Collins and Roger Bresnahan singled runs home and Hugh Duffy walked with the bases loaded. They batted around but left the sacks full. In the second, Hugh Jennings plated a run and Jesse Burkett doubled for a 5-0 lead.
Williams retired nine in a row before two hits in the fifth, but kept the score at 5-0. Cy Young had little trouble thru six frames with a shutout.
John Donaldson was awesome in relief, pitching four hitless innings and striking out six. Prior to this appearance he held an ERA of 6.00 in 11 games.
The Stars started the comeback with four runs in the seventh. Five hits off Young brought Vic Willis in to pitch.
Donaldson went 2 for 4 and came up with the game-winning hit in the bottom of the ninth.
GAME NOTE: the manager of the Centurians (that would be me) takes the blame for the loss as he did not replace Jesse Burkett in leftfield with Joe Kelley. A double ahead of the game-winning single was a roll of 2 on the fielder's chart and Burkett is a 3 in leftfield.

This could be an interesting series. But I think Babe and the boys will find a way to win this series - 4 games to 2. But I am a Josh Gibson fan and I hope he does great!
