The Left Outers have their work cut out for them! If they don't jump on Pittsburgh early and keep them down I can see a major upset happening here! Always exciting play, Ty!

The Left Outers are in serious trouble now, down 2-0 in the series! These guys are all HOFers, but the bullpen is just bad. I've started using Fergie Jenkins starting and relieving, along with Robin Roberts. Bob Lemon, Early Wynn and Herb Pennock just don't do well at all in any of the games I play.

A huge blow-out win for Pittsburgh as they take out the Left Outers 15-2, and now have a 2-0 lead in the series.
Phil Cockrell pitched a complete game, giving up two runs on eight hits. Steve Carlton suffered his first loss of the tournament, allowing six runs in five innings.
The Crawfords led 6-2 after five innings, then destroyed Bob Lemon for seven runs in the sixth. John Beckwith and Cristobal Torriente each finished with three RBI. Frank Robinson had two doubles and a home run for the Left Outers.

A great back and forth game that the Left Outers win in 10 innings 5-4 and now trail in the series two games to one.
Hack Wilson and Mickey Cochrane homered in the top of the second off Andy Cooper to take a 3-1 lead. Oscar Johnson's home run tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth.
Eggie Hensley couldn't hold the 4-3 lead in the ninth. Ralph Kiner homered to tie the game, and in the 10th Harry Heilmann gave the Left Outers a 5-4 lead.

A second straight 10 inning game and the Left Outers win again, 7-4, and even the series at two games apiece.
Dobie Moore's solo home run in the bottom of the ninth tied the game 4-4. Bullet Joe Rogan made his first relief appearance of the tournament and it didn't go any better than his other starts. Willie McCovey's pinch-hit RBI single in the 10th put the Left Outers up by one, then Duke Snider hit a two-run homer.
Harry Heilmann has gone 2 for 4 in all four games of the series. Snider went 3 for 6. Oscar Johnson went 3 for 5 for the Crawfords.

Another close one and Pittsburgh grabs game five 4-3 and a three games to two series lead.
Dick Redding turned in a complete game effort, allowing six hits, two earned runs, and striking out eight.
Three straight doubles started the bottom of the fifth for the Crawfords. Two errors and another hit made the score 4-3 Pittsburgh.

The Left Outers came back fast with three-run homers by Ralph Kiner and Jimmie Foxx to win game six 10-3. The series now goes to the final game seven.
Steve Carlton bounced back after his game two loss by pitching a complete game. After back to back home runs in the first by John Beckwith and Oscar Johnson, Carlton settled in.
Phil Cockrell had a good game going until the bottom of the fourth and fifth. Kiner's home run put the Left Outers ahead 5-3. Foxx' blast made it 10-3.

A ridiculous high-scoring game seven as no lead was safe. Five runs were scored in four different innings, two by each team. Mickey Cochrane hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 11th off Eggie Hensley to win the game and the series for the Left Outers.
The Left Outers scored five in the bottom of the fifth, knocking starter Andy Cooper out of the game. The 6-0 lead didn't last as Pittsburgh scored five in the top of the sixth. The Left Outers then scored five runs in their half of the sixth, capped by a grand slam from Jimmie Foxx. The Crawfords made it four at-bats in a row between the two teams by scoring five runs again. Dobie Moore hit a three-run triple.
Jimmie Lyons hit his second home run of the game in the seventh and Pittsburgh led 12-11. Ralph Kiner tripled to drive in the tying run, but the Crawfords got out of the inning with the infield in and nailing Kiner at the plate.
Early Wynn pitched three innings of one-hit relief for the win. Hensley gave up the homer to Cochrane leading off the bottom of the 11th for the loss.

This series should have great pitching and game one gave us just that. The Dead Ballers rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to edge the Old Timers 3-2.
Chief Bender picked up the win with two innings in relief of Walter Johnson. Joe McGinnity recorded his first save. Old Hoss Radbourn suffered the complete game loss.
The Big Train walked three straight hitters with two out in the third to force in the first run of the game. King Kelly hit a sacrifice fly for a 2-0 lead in the sixth.
Max Carey's two-out, pinch-hit single scored Bobby Wallace to get the Dead Ballers on the board in the sixth. Wallace and Eddie Collins each drove in a run with singles in the seventh to take the lead.

Another real close and exciting game between the Dead Ballers and the Old Timers. The teams fought to the 11th inning where Zack Wheat's pinch-hit single past second baseman John Ward drove in the game-winning run.
Tim Keefe gave up three runs in the first to the Dead Ballers. He then pitched seven shutout innings. The Old Timers tied the game 3-3 in the fourth.
The ninth saw Roger Connor hit a pinch-hit home run and Ed Delahanty drive in one more off Chief Bender. Candy Cummings couldn't hold the lead. Joe Jackson hit a two-run triple to tie the game. Cummings had the bases loaded and no out but kept the game tied.
Bobby Wallace hit a two-out triple in the 11th off Mickey Welch. Wheat lined a single to win the game and give the Dead Ballers a 2-0 lead in the series.

Billy Hamilton drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the bottom of the seventh. A triple by Buck Ewing and a double from Bid McPhee in the eighth help up the lead to 6-2.
Al Spalding went the distance for his seventh win of the tournament. Jack Chesbro took the loss in two innings of work, giving up four runs.
Ewing had two triples and three RBI. Hamilton and Sam Thompson each had three hits for the Old Timers.

An awesome game 4 that saw the Dead Ballers come back from a 6-0 deficit to win 7-6 in 12 innings, and take a three games to one lead in the series.
It was a devastating loss for the Old Timers. They scored three runs in the first and second innings off Eddie Plank, knocking him out of the game. They had seven hits off Plank, then just six more hits the next 10 innings against Jack Chesbro, Chief Bender and Joe McGinnity.
John Clarkson went five for the Old Timers, then Pud Galvin pitched four innings of relief. He allowed one run on two hits, that coming in the ninth when Joe Jackson hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game.
In the top of the 10th, Frank Baker led off with his second triple of the game. Candy Cummings was able to strand him at third base with a strikeout, pop oout and flyball.
The Old Timers had a man at second base in the bottom of the 11th but didn't score. Tris Speaker and Bobby Wallace hit doubles in the 12th to give the Dead Ballers a 7-6 lead.
The last of the 12th saw Dan Brouthers lead off with a single, and Ed Delahanty follow with a base hit for runners at the corners and no outs. Sam Thompson fouled out to the catcher, and Buck Ewing grounded out with the infield in. McGinnity got a grounder to second from King Kelly to end the game.

The Old Timers trailed 6-2, but scored 10 runs in the last three innings. A two-run triple by Ed Delahanty gave them a 7-6 lead. In the eighth, he hit another two-run triple in scoring five runs.
The Dead Ballers scored five in the ninth off Mickey Welch but came up one run short.

Another tremendous game to close out this series. Game 7 saw the Old Timers tie the game with three runs in the top of the ninth, but the Dead Ballers won in the final at-bat 6-5.
Six games were decided by one run with two going extra innings.
Al Spalding gave up four runs in the bottom of the first. Bobby Wallace capped the frame with a two-run triple. Ty Cobb singled home Ray Schalk in the sixth for a 5-0 lead.
Ed Walsh took a shutout into the seventh inning. An error on Cobb in rightfield led to two runs for the Old Timers. In the top of the ninth, three straight hits knocked Walsh out of the game, with the last a run-scoring double by Dan Brouthers. Joe McGinnity allowed a two-run single to Billy Hamilton that tied the game 5-5.
Mickey Welch gave up a leadoff triple to George Sisler to start the bottom of the ninth. After a lineout to second base, Tris Speaker sent Billy Hamilton back deep in leftfield to score the winning run on a sacrifice fly.
