Okay so I've been to 19 of the 28 places you must venture to in order to beat Dragon Quest VI!Dang this game is complicated. You keep finding out you can't do a bunch of things until you get a certain item or accomplish a certain feat.
BTW just because a weapon is expensive, doesn't mean it's particularly better. The one thing I did that worked out well was giving bladed bommerangs to Slial.Mokomon and Healie. All 3 were pretty much worthless offensively, but when they got bladed bomerangs they got strong fast. The bomerangs get multiple hits and come in handy when your dealing with a bunch of monsters at once.I eventually bought a flame boomerang for Healie,it increased his hitpower immensely!
As for my other characters...Lynn and Barb are my Mages. They've progressed very well.Barb has learned some great fighting spells like defeat, beat and expell, the downside is they don't always work. Her Morning Star weapon gets multiple hits, rather low hitpower but handy.Lynn is a good healer and has some devestating spells that come in handy when fighting a lot of monsters at once.I find myself using her "Breathes Fire" fighting skill most though. Her Moon Fan weapon is not very effective even though it cost a lot.Maybe I need to figure out how to use it properly.Lynn also has a bedragon spell that turns her into a fiercely fighting dragon.
Hassan is a Fighter very strong! He's pretty much the "Strong Arm" of the bunch.Amos is a shapeshifter his gimmick is that he can transform himself into a Dragon!Amos is a great fighter in his normal state. As a Dragon he's spectacular. Sometimes his moves don't work but when he does hit he hits hard!
So now I'm trying to figure out how to beat Glacos' guards. My best guys are no match for them. They have to have some vulnerability, but I haven't been able to find it yet.Overall the fighting is getting harder but my guys are hanging tough!
Anyway it's a great game and I definately recommend it if you like RPG type video games!

Agreed that more expensive weapons don't mean better weapons. I remember saving up my money for some real expensive spear (I think) in MapleStory. It did a bit more damage than what I had and was faster to use. Once I bought the spear, it made very little difference in game play. Sure it was a bit faster, but not much. Plus, the spear is a two-handed weapon which meant I couldn't carry a shield. I could have spent my money on better armor which would have made a good deal of difference, but went with the spear, LOL!
RPG's are fun if you are willing to invest A LOT of time in them!
Just picked up NHL 11 (cause my Blackhawks finally won *see my section for further information posted a few months back)! Having fun with it right now. The graphics are tight, the gameplay is just as fun as the older games I have. Just one drawback: Seasons are FULL seasons, so there's no way to have just a 20 game or 40 game season. I will be playing the season for a LONG time! But once it's over, I will post footage of the Stanley Cup victory, YAY!
Another good spot in NHL 11 is you can import your own music! So I transferred over "Shelley the JuiceGirl Remix" and have it play during intermissions and as my menu music. Bet you never thought your music would ever be playing at an NHL game, huh Dr B?
Next up is Dead Rising 2, a survivor horror gem coming out at the end of the month, I think. Ah, going through a crowd of zombies with a chainsaw! Oh the fun I will have!

Importing music, that is an innovation.Shouldn't you have an organ playing dumb junk like at baseball games?hahaha!
Invest a lot of time...yeah,I beat Dragon Warrior in less than a week this last time.I've been working on Dragon Quest VI since May or June!I'm only a little past the mid point of the game I think. This is a good game and so far, even though it seemed impossible at times,I'm finding it's not.You just have to figure out logically how you can win the battles.
Longer season in NHL 11...guess you'll just have to play more.

Not as cool as NHL 11 but this was 1994.Best of that era I think.

Now THAT'S Old School!
Reminds me of Mutant League Hockey, which I used to love! I will post some gameplay footage of that soon! It was an AWEsome game!
I've always liked hockey video games, they are easy to play and you don't have to worry about learning plays, accuracy in throws, trying to predict where rebounds will land, going off the racetrack, etc. It's just get the puck, skate and SHOOT!

That was a cool video. I've liked hockey since the 80s. Detroit Red Wings is my favorite team. I don't have a hockey game though, maybe I should check what is a good hockey game for the PSP.

That's pretty good, Dr B! I've never heard of the game though.
I remember playing a fun baseball game on the ol' NES! My nephew threw a slow ball to Jose Canseco, so I hit it WAY out of the park and said to him, "You don't throw a slow ball to Canseco!" LOL!
I'm still playing the Red Sox season in Major League Baseball 2k5! 70 games down, about 90+ to go!

WTIC- Bases Load 1-3 are great SNES games.I also have MLBPA the EA Sports Baseball Game and Super Techmo Baseball. BTW I downloaded Tiger Woods 2004.Once you get used to how it plays I can see shooting in the low 60s.I got a bronze medal in the Challenge Mode.I've also been playing ESPN Speed World.I qualified #3 and I ranked #7 in the race. Not bad for a 1st try.
Kelly- To me winning isn't everything. You learn a game, then you learn to "JAM" it!I lost countless matches in WCW just experimenting with different ways to beatup wrestlers. My favorite move was a piledriver off the railing.I also could beat a wrestler mercilessly, then right before the time runs out pin him or make him submit.Ring King was the same way, after you figure out how to out box the guy,you figure out how you can either beat him as fast as you can or prolong the agony till the 15th round!

What is your record? 70-0? Kelly: Ummm... ;D ;D ;D
Dr B: Yeah! Jam it! Good to hear you are rocking on Tiger Woods! I hear they made the difficulty in TW 11 harder! I thought it was hard enough as it was, LOL!

Well I figured out how to control how much power you're swinging with. It's a matter of getting it on the green with the 1st shot and dropping on the 2nd.I still average 3 or 4 shots each hole.I was playing the woman character, not the best power, but very contolled shots.

Yeah, once you get used to swinging the club correctly, everything else falls into place! And once you've mastered putting, you get a fabulous score! Too bad my real-life golf game sucks!
