Erie comes back late to beat Charles County 6-2.
Don Sutton went seven innings for the win. Lee Smith picked up his first save.
Jack Chesbro allowed six runs, five earned, on nine hits in 8 1/3 innings.
Mickey Mantle hit his second home run to put the Cougars in front 2-1. Roger Connor connected for a two-run homer to move Erie ahead 3-2. Three runs in the top of the ninth finished things off.

An excellent pitcher's dual in the series finale. Erie takes it 4-1 and completes the sweep of the four-game series.
Harry Salmon went the distance for the win, allowing only five hits. Candy Cummings took the loss, giving up nine hits in the complete game.
Ernie Lombardi was the unlikely hero for the SeaWolves. His two-out single tied the game 1-1 in the fourth. In the eighth, he cranked a three-run homer to make the score 4-1.

I'm planning to come back to this league after finishing the round robin tournament. Some players made a Japanese Baseball Heroes set for the computer and a pdf for card and dice. I printed it out and will drop in some of those players. I'll do a short supplemental draft, probably one full round and let teams that had one less player than other teams add another. A couple squads could use a catcher or pitcher.
