In 1988 I downloaded a program from AOL Downloads called Rassling.It was the 1st wrestling ever programmed for Macintosh.There were a few enthusiasts for this game.One of them was a kid named Mark Burns.Mark told me he was writnig the source code for a wrestling sim that was way better than Rassling.Another fan of
Rassling was my good friend Kelly Monro.This is how we met!
Now Mark was right his Simple Wrestling Sim was way better than Rassling.He showed me how to write wrestling sim program source code.I created Wrestlelator the Wrestling Simulator.This was the 1st wrestling sim that had more than just a pin ending.I programmed in submission wins.win by Sleeper and countouts.By the time I got to version 4 there was also a DQ ending.
By this time Mark had started writing programs for SWS 1.5 - 3.0.Mark was the 1st to have Tag Matches where the wrestlers actually tagged in and out.He created several gimmick matches too.At about the same time I started writing source codes for the original Ultimate Extreme Wrestling Sim.
Unlike Mark's SWS and Ultra Pro Sims,Ultimate Extreme Wrestling was not an all in one sim.It was a wrestling sim set.There were single matches,Texas Tornado style Team matches,I Quit,Chain and Cage Matches.
It was around this time that I purchased Virtual PC so I could run WIN 98.I downloaded and studied source codes for various PC based wrestling sims.I was the 1st programmer to cross platform a wrestling sim,that was NWAS.A favorite of Kelly Monro she used NWAS to play out matches on her original Amazon Wrestling Federation.I also did UEW II a PC version of the original UEW.
By now you're asking yourself what the hell does this have to do with anything?Well in late 1998 Mark encouraged me to do a Website for my UEW Sim.I had to learn HTML and a few other things,but once I did,different worlds opened up.
I wanted my site to be more than a place where you could get me to send you UEW sims.It started out with a couple of matches to demonstrate the sims.The 1st ever UEW match was Shannen Doherty vs Melissa Joan Hart.
That is where the Ultimate Extreme Wrestling Alliance started.The site became an EFed site.Originally the roster consisited of 15 members.Tank,Real Deal Natale,Mr Extreme,Maniac Mike,Genocide,Hardcore Ferguson,Blade,Dave the Dude,Y2 Dave,Mastermind Mark,Mantis,Proctor,Roids,Dr Deathlock and OK Kid DeAnna.
The members of the EFED "handled" their wrestlers and did RPs.They didn't know that I played all the other characters.This is where I learned how to write my self out of any situation the members would create and they had some doozies!
Dave the Dude wanted a scenario where he saved Britney Spears because she'd been kidnapped by his arch enemy Tank.Took some writing skill to write my way out of that!Genocide decided that he wanted to date my Stephanie Paine character.
I thought that was funny since I was actually Stephanie Paine.It was also intrigueing because at the time the Stephanie Paine character was a low card enhancement character.Maniac Mike came up with one where he stole the UEW Title and I had to make my GFreak character "jump through hoops".GFreak eventually beat Maniac Mike only to actually lose the title to him a couple of weeks later.
The members have always been a big part of my EFeds.Back then it was the guys on the roster.Now WTIC,Neil and Kelly are part of "The Creative Team".All have contributed to the action over at LGW/WGW.
