***The Excalibur Club News***
News has already been released concerning the upcoming EC World Title tournament. There are some rumblings from the locker room about certain talent saying they will boycott the event entirely if they are forced to face each other in the opening round.
There seems to be a threesome of Frank Gotch, Ric Flair, and Hulk Hogan who are saying it is in their written contracts that they don't have to wrestle certain people if they choose not to. They seemed to have joined together in unity on the topic and they are claiming this tournament will be a complete sham if they don't participate.
The EC Committee is meeting in private to see if they can "randomly" place each of these three wrestlers in a different part of the bracket so they won't be picked to face each other in the opening round.
Jerry Lawler has said such demands show that the trio are a bunch of crybabies who are already making it difficult for anything to get done in the locker room. And he has said he will do everything in his power to make sure that the trio is crushed to the ground and stomped on before they infect the Organization with their sickness.
Andre the Giant and The Terrible Turk Youssuf Ishmaelo are becoming close friends and are talking about forming their own tag team. That thought is bringing restless nights and horrible nightmares to some wrestlers.
***More EC News and rumors when they become available!***

The Excalibur Club Tournament for the World Title
Night One - DQ's are allowed
Match 1: Bobo Brazil v Al Costello Strong performances by both men. Al kept it going when it seemed he was finished. But following the 3rd Coco Butt of the match, which split open Costello's noggin', he was done. Winner: Bobo Brazil Time: 9 minutes and 46 seconds Rating: *** (out of 4 stars)
Match 2: Gorgeous George v Missing Link After a very physical match, including multiple chair shots by Missing Link (which the Ref permitted), the Gorgeous One was DQed for refusing to stop using Link as a battering ram against the steel ring post outside of the ring. Missing Link was busted open. Gorgeous George was livid for being DQed after his opponent got away with so much that he had to be detained by EC Security. Winner: Missing Link by DQ Time: 14 minutes and 16 seconds Rating: *** (out of 4 stars)
Match 3: The Rock v Animal Nice back and forth match but towards the end The Rock caught fire and put Animal away following The Rock Bottom. Winner: The Rock Time: 10 minutes and 54 seconds Rating: *** (out of 4 stars)
Match 4: Eduoardo Carpentier v George Hackenschmidt Eduoardo overpowered George from the midway point on. After busting Hackenschmidt wide open outside of the ring, resulting in a heavy loss of blood as George bled profusely all over the mat (seriously it was getting soaked!), Carpentier put his opponent out of his misery following a Flying Somersault. Winner: Eduoardo Carpentier Time: 4 minutes and 1 second Rating: *** 1/2 (out of 4 stars)
Match 5: Curt Hennig v Jerry 'The King' Lawler Curt controlled much of the match but towards the end Lawler tossed a fireball into his face and was DQed. Hennig moves on. Winner: Curt Hennig by DQ Time: 5 minutes and 17 seconds Rating: ** 1/2 (out of 4 stars)
Match 6: Frank Gotch v Tito Santana Tito was clearly not ready for Gotch's mat ability. Frank used various locks to wear down Santana and finally put him away following a Grinding Hammerlock. Gotch spit at the fans and held his middle fingers high in the air as he walked to the locker room. Winner: Frank Gotch Time: 3 minutes and 3 seconds Rating: * 1/2 (out of 4 stars)
Match 7: Hulk Hogan v Johnny Valentine Hogan held the advantage for most of the match. But Valentine would not give up. Neither would the Hulkster. Johnny executed 6 Atomic Skullcrushers (causing loss of blood by Hulk) before Hogan had nothing left and Valentine wins the match in a hard fought battle. Winner: Johnny Valentine Time: 18 minutes and 53 seconds Rating: *** 1/2 (out of 4 stars)
Match 8: Giant Baba v Dick the Bruiser After a back and forth evenly fought match, Baba got carried away outside of the ring and the Ref DQed him. Winner: Dick the Bruiser by DQ Time: 4 minutes and 9 seconds Rating: ** 1/2 (out of 4 stars)
Match 9: Kerry von Erich v Youssuf 'The Terrible Turk' Ishmaelo Kerry had the fans on his side and he did the best he could not to disappoint them. But tonight Youssuf was too tough and after a 2nd Stranglehold (which the Ref permitted) von Erich tapped. Winner: Youssuf 'The Terrible Turk' Ishmaelo Time: 6 minutes and 35 seconds Rating: *** (out of 4 stars)
Match 10: Don Muraco v The Sheik These two absolutely hated each other. Muraco did his best to pin The Sheik but The Sheik continued to use illegal tactics to regain momentum. The conclusion came however, when the Ref saw The Sheik throw fire into Don's eyes while in the corner. The Sheik was DQed and the fans were POed. Winner: Don Muraco by DQ Time: 8 minutes and 35 seconds Rating: *** 1/2 (out of 4 stars)
Match 11: Nick Bockwinkle v Andre the Giant Nick had the horrible task to face Andre in the opening round. Andre just about put Bockwinkle away early following a Gorilla Press Slam, but Nick recovered. About midway into the match Bockwinkle gained confidence and fought back. Following being tossed out of the ring, the Giant followed and used Bockwinkle as a battering ram against various steel objects around the ring. The Referee saw enough and DQed Andre. Winner: Nick Bockwinkle by DQ Time: 7 minutes and 3 seconds Rating: *** (out of 4 stars)
Following Night Two of the EC Tournament the matches will be as follows: Bobo Brazil v Missing Link The Rock v Eduoardo Carpentier Curt Hennig v Frank Gotch Johnny Valentine v Dick the Bruiser Youssuf 'The Terrible Turk' Ishmaelo v Don Muraco Nick Bockwinkle v the winner of the 11th Match on Night Two between Playboy Buddy Rose and Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine
