A few months ago, I posted something about The Orville on the OBoard. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not at first.
The first episode was so-so. I had expected a pun-filled, Family Guy-like comedy and was curious why there wasn't many laughs (a few chuckles, that's all). So then came the second episode: Imagine my surprise as to how much I enjoyed it, wow! Here was a Star Trek-like episode with a few comedy moments sprinkled in (not to mention the "surprise twist" at the end)!
Okay, now that was good! Up next, the third episode: Again, not expecting much, I watched and this time was thoroughly entertained! Wow, this was the Star Trek (TOS) that I knew and loved! Absolutely GREAT episode, with an ending I was kind of thinking they'd do, but didn't think they would do since it's supposed to be a comedy.
Anyway, I am LOVING The Orville! I hope the ratings pick up because this is a WAY better Star Trek than I've seen in decades!
Speaking of Trek, I FINALLY saw Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan in the theaters last week (limited engagement at Cinemark)! One word: AWESOME!
...or should I say, "KHAAAAAAA-AAAA-AAAN!"?
