Hey everyone! I played out the FLW PPV for the FLW and decided to post it here also! Hope you enjoy it!
Lady Gaga opened the Pay-Per-View with a rendition of the National Anthem! Luckily for the scantily clad Gaga, the event was moved from being an outdoor Pay-Per-View to the indoors! Lady Gaga looked her fashionable self onstage as always. The crowd loved her outrageous outfit and applauded kindly!
Out stepped The Miz and he verbally assaulted Gaga until Gaga retreated to the safety of the dressing room. The crowd showed their disapproval, but The Miz could care less! The Miz went on to say, "Bryan Danielson! You're such a wimp not to accept my challenge to fight me here at Hell Frozen Over! Don't you know who I am? I'm The Miz! And I'm… correction: not only am I awesome, I am AWE itself!"
"Booooo!" went the crowd! They clearly despised The Miz, and voiced it! "Since I don't have a match here tonight, to show this dumb Alaskan crowd just how AWEsome I am, I make an open challenge to any AWE wrestler to fight me here tonight! Come on! Anyone!"
For a few moments, there was no response. And then, out of the back came the one, the only --
"Let me tell you something, brother," Hogan yelled into the microphone. "You can't make a challenge like that here in AWE and not get one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time not to bite on such a tempting offer! I accept your challenge, brother! You want the Hulkster? You got him!"
The Miz's jaw hit the floor! Obviously, he was expecting an easier challenge, but instead got Hulk Hogan! "Listen here, Hogan," Miz finally said after collecting himself. "I've got other arrangements tonight, so the match is OFF! Sorry!" The Miz then hightailed it out as he forced his way through the audience to escape! Hogan, as always, came down to the ring and posed for the crowd for ten minutes to start the Pay-Per-View!
MATCH 1: Magnum T.A. VS "Mister Perfect" Curt Hennig
The referee was knocked down early in this fight, and Magnum hit his favorite move twice, but could not go for the pin since the ref was out of it. Once the referee got back to his feet, Hennig attacked with a sudden fury! Magnum was on the defensive, but then suddenly caught Hennig off-guard and was able to secure the victory in this one!
WINNER: Magnum T.A won with his finisher-BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX in a time of 6:38!
MATCH 2: The Von Erichs (David, Kerry, & Kevin) VS Bradshaw, Mike Rotundo, & Barry Windham (The Pinnacle, with Velvet Sky)
David Von Erich started this match out against Bradshaw. After trading blows, Bradshaw tagged in Windham while David tagged in Kerry. Windham quickly applied a Figure-Four Leglock followed immediately by his finisher! After Kerry kicked out, Windham tagged in Rotundo, and Rotundo used his finisher! Kerry kicked out at the two-count, mounted a comeback and tagged in Kevin. Kevin went to work on Rotundo and tried to finish the match several times with his finisher, but it did not work. Rotundo managed to tag in Windham, and Windham hit Kevin with a move that won the match for his team! Following the match, Bradshaw, Windham, & Rotundo held the Texas state flag high over the prone body of Kevin Von Erich as the crowd booed loudly!
WINNERS: Bradshaw, Mike Rotundo, & Barry Windham won when Barry Windham pinned Kevin Von Erich after a Bulldog in a time of 12:52!
MATCH 3: "The Rocket" Owen Hart VS "Y2J" Chris Jericho -- Lumberjack Match
Owen Hart came to ringside with Natalya (but not the rest of Owen's lumberjacks just yet), while Chris Jericho had Mr. Fuji, Killer Kowalski, The Mountie, and Professor Tanaka with him as his lumberjacks for this match. As this match started, it was clear that Jericho was going to have his lumberjacks do all the work for him. Several times Jericho threw Hart out so Jericho's lumberjacks could work over Hart. Once Owen was tossed back in a third time, Jericho easily got the win here!
WINNER: Chris Jericho won with a D.D.T. in a time of 4:54!
MATCH 4: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat VS "Macho Man" Randy Savage (with Elizabeth)
Randy Savage came into this match injured, by the hands of Ric Flair in a Hell in the Cell match at the last AWE Pay-Per-View. At first, Steamboat went easy on him, but that cost him, as Savage quickly tallied up three quick pin attempts (including the use of his finisher). Steamboat managed to bounce back from this and almost got the win with a Cross Body Block! Steamboat, sensing Savage was more injured than he let on, noticed that Savage was tiring more and more as the match went on, so Steamboat planned a strategy that caught Savage with a move that managed to win the match for him!
WINNER: Ricky Steamboat won with a Small Package in a time of 21:13!
MATCH 5: Cactus Jack VS Terry Funk VS Sabu (with Angelina Love) VS The Sandman -- Fatal 4-Way Hardcore Match
FIRST FALL: The Sandman went right to work against Cactus Jack to begin things. Using both his finishers, The Sandman quickly eliminated Cactus in the early going!
The Sandman used his finisher-SINGAPORE CANE and eliminated Cactus Jack!
SECOND FALL: Terry Funk and Sabu went at it next, with Funk exploding on offense! Sabu could not counter the Funkster as Funk went on to win this fall easily!
Terry Funk eliminated Sabu with his finisher-SPINNING TOEHOLD.
FINAL FALL: As Terry Funk and The Sandman fought, it was obvious that Funk had a fire in his eyes like Funk knew it was destiny that he take this match. With an unparalleled intensity, Funk pounded on The Sandman and beat him down to the point Funk knew it was time to end it, which Funk did!
WINNER: Terry Funk won over Sandman with his finisher-SPINNING TOEHOLD in a time of 12:31!
MATCH 6: Sting VS "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair
Making his way to the ring to start things off was…
Ric Flair was at the top of the entrance ramp with the rest of the Four Horsemen (Arn Anderson, John Cena, and Sid Vicious). Flair called out, "Sting! It's time to break your legs and run you out of this business!" With that, the Horsemen raced down to the ring and attacked "Sting"! As they stomped on this imposter Sting (who looked an awful lot like Mr. Kennedy in Sting make-up), it was obvious that their stomps were not connecting, and this was a staged event to please Flair's ego. "Sting" managed to break free and ran back to the dressing room. Before the Horsemen could give chase, out of the dressing room appeared the Four Kings from the NWF (Buddy Rogers, Triple H, Rick Rude, and Don Muraco)! The Horsemen stopped dead in their tracks as the Four Kings simply gestured for them to go up the rampway and fight them. Flair nodded his head and the rest of the Horsemen chased the Four Kings into the dressing room. Flair stood in the ring facing the top of the ramp when suddenly, down from the rafters came --
BAM! Flair caught a fist to the face once he turned around! This was not the early-90's Sting that Flair faced this match, it was THE CROW version! Crow Sting had the upper hand early but Flair managed to reverse things quickly. Three finishers by Flair could not finish off Sting here, and Sting made a comeback and looked like he was going to take this match-up, but it was not to be. John Cena returned to the ring and helped out Flair turn the tide in his favor! Flair got a second wind and then finished off his arch-rival to put an end to the match in fashion!
WINNER: Rick Flair won with a Somersault Kneedrop in a time of 9:15!
MATCH 7: NWF Heavyweight Champion "The Solid Man" William Muldoon VS Bret "Hitman" Hart -- NWF HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT
The match starts with a friendly handshake between the two competitors. Muldoon took the early advantage and hit the challenger with a Flying Head Mare. After a few Arm Drags, Hart reversed a Bodyslam attempt into a Bulldog. Muldoon rolls to the outside for a breather, only to have Hart hit him with a Body Block from between the ropes. Hart, usually known as a technician, took the advantage as the superior brawler. The momentum swung back to Muldoon when he reversed an Irish Whip into the turnbuckle and Hart took it in the chest. Muldoon then wore down Hart with several Suplexes and Double Shoulder Locks (both "Add 1" moves) and finally got Hart to tap out to the Double Shoulder Lock. In a showing of true sportsmanship, Hart handed Muldoon his Belt and raised his hand in victory, and again both men shook hands.
WINNER: William Muldoon won with a Double Shoulder Lock in a time of 24:31, thus William Muldoon retained the NWF Heavyweight Belt!
MATCH 8: Hernandez VS Scott Hall -- Hardcore Match
Scott Hall strode to the ring very confidently. He was not worried at all about his match here tonight. Hernandez came to ringside accompanied by Konnan. As the match started, it was all Hall. A pin attempt early and Hall was completely in control. Hernandez, not intimidated by 'da Bad Guy', rebounded nicely and managed to get Hall into position for his favorite move, which turned out to be the game winner!
WINNER: Hernandez won by using his finisher-THE BORDER TOSS two times in a row in a time of 6:20!
MATCH 9: FLW World Tag Team Champions Animal & Hawk (Legion of Doom, with Paul Ellering) VS Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane (Midnight Express) -- FLW WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE BOUT
The challengers were on fire here, hitting the Road Warriors with their finishers early and often! You could see that the Midnight Express were playing on another level as the Legion of Doom looked slow and lethargic. Out of frustration, Animal called for Ellering to hand him a foreign object. The referee caught this, and called for a DQ of the Champions to end the match!
WINNERS: Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane won when Animal was disqualified against Stan Lane in a time of 28:43. The FLW Tag Belts do NOT change hands on a DQ, therefore Animal & Hawk retained the FLW World Tag Team Belts!
MATCH 10: Frank Gotch, George Hackenschmidt, Brock Lesnar, & John Pesek VS Giant Baba, Bobo Brazil, The Destroyer, and Antonio Inoki -- Survivor Series Match
FIRST FALL: George Hackenschmidt began the match against Giant Baba. Hackenschmidt quickly tagged in Pesek. Baba got an early pin attempt on Pesek, then tagged out to Brazil. Pesek tagged out to Gotch, but Gotch was quickly caught with a Gut Wrench Suplex. Brazil then tagged in The Destroyer, but The Destroyer did not do much damage so he tagged in Inoki. Inoki managed to finish off Gotch to take the first fall for his team here!
Antonio Inoki won over Frank Gotch with a Bow & Arrow!
SECOND FALL: John Pesek went against Bobo Brazil to start things in the second fall. Pesek mounted no offense as Brazil dominated. Brazil was able to secure a fall without too much trouble!
Bobo Brazil won over John Pesek with a Bearhug!
THIRD FALL: Down to just two wrestlers left on his team, George Hackenschmidt went to work on Antonio Inoki. Hackenschmidt needed to use his finisher three times in order to get the fall on Inoki, as Inoki fell to the powerful grappler in the third fall!
George Hackenschmidt won over Antonio Inoki with his finisher-RUSSIAN BEARHUG!
FOURTH FALL: Brock Lesnar and Bobo Brazil fired off shots against each other here. Lesnar clearly had the upper hand, which made Brazil tag out to Baba. Soon, Lesnar needed a breather and tagged in Hackenschmidt. Hackenschmidt made a critical mistake and Baba capitalized on it and managed to turn it into a fall for his team!
Giant Baba won over George Hackenschmidt with his finisher-NECKBREAKER DROP!
FIFTH FALL: Now, it was three against one as Lesnar took on the remainder of Baba's team. Baba wore out Lesnar with some power moves, then Baba tagged out to The Destroyer, who continued the assault. Then it was Brazil's turn, but Lesnar was able to reverse things in his favor and managed to pick up a fall against a surprised Bobo!
Brock Lesnar won over Bobo Brazil with his finisher--F-5!
SIXTH FALL: Brock Lesnar continued his attack on Giant Baba here, catching the big man off-guard. Lesnar was unrelentless with his offense and managed to pick up the fall here!
Brock Lesnar won over Giant Baba with a Flying Tackle!
FINAL FALL: It was down to just these two: Brock Lesnar and The Destroyer! One of these men would win the match for his team! The Destroyer was in good shape here since he did not have much ringtime this match. Lesnar was tired, but in great condition with momentum clearly on his side! One move was all Lesnar needed to put away The Destroyer, or so he thought! One F-5 looked good as Lesnar thought he had the match won, but The Destroyer incredibly kicked out of the three-count! The Destroyer came firing back and then managed to secure his finisher on an exhausted Lesnar! It was all over after that!
WINNERS: Giant Baba, Bobo Brazil, The Destroyer, and Antonio Inoki won after The Destroyer used his finisher-FIGURE-FOUR LEGLOCK on Brock Lesnar in a time of 35:45!
MATCH 11: FLW World Heavyweight Champion Christopher Daniels (with Velvet Sky) VS Lou Thesz -- FLW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT
The odds were clearly against Daniels in this match. Daniels had been riding a lucky streak that looked like it was about to end against his opponent, who was a talented and respected legend. Thesz went right to work against the FLW World Heavyweight Champion, accumulating three pin attempts along with using his finisher an incredible FOUR times on the Champion. But this STILL could not put away Daniels. There was a gleam in Daniels' eyes that was more than a will to survive. It was a will to win and show the world that he was not just a fluke champion that would fold under pressure when facing a truly formidable foe! At a point when all seemed completely lost, Daniels made a Hulk Hogan-like comeback! Suddenly alive with an unmatched charge of energy, Daniels turned things around as he shocked the crowd into believing in miracles! Daniels then silenced all critics with his favorite move to put an end to this great match with one of the greatest comebacks ever in FLW history!
WINNER: Christopher Daniels won with his finisher-ANGEL'S WINGS in a time of 27:20, thus Christopher Daniels retained the FLW World Heavyweight Belt!
