Barry was champ over in the Global Wrestling Fed, he had some title, I forget which. His "Belt" had a tin can cover for the center plate, LOL!
I never realized that jobbers have such a passion for the business, otherwise they wouldn't be IN the business! I'm a George South fan now for sure!

Without those guys everyone is really fighting for a spot. It's why Curtis Axel who used to be Mcgilicutty is so under used.Guys like Santino were entertaining. Everyone knew he wouldn't be great but he sold pretty good for a guy who got slapped by Cornette.
Wade Barrett I liked too but he got higher than his ability and ultimately failed.Every good jobber has good credentials. They wrestled the Champions at Houseshows and on Saturday broadcasts.
NXT started out as a good thing, but sending people to the Main Roster to early is a mistake.

Agreed on that, yes!
Saturday squash matches were the norm when I started watching. You had to love it when a jobber got cocky, thinking he was going win, then get squashed horribly! I'm just glad I wasn't on the receiving end of Yokozuna's Banzai (sp?)!

The Gladiators,The Mulkeys,State Patrol. The Mod Squad and Kendall Windham and anyone he teamed with got beat weekly. In those days The Road Warriors,Doom & The Steiners worked stiff.I gotta believe it'd hurt like heck if Animal punch you in the face.
Salvatore Bellomo and Mario Mancini,SD Jones & whoever he teamed with. The Moondogs all of them took WWF beatings weekly.

Yeah, I had heard those you mentioned worked stiff! I hear so did Magnum TA! That guy was intense for a baby-face! I always wondered why some guys got a main-event push, then started jobbing never to be pushed again. Guys like Iron Mike Sharpe (who I hear was pretty tough in his own right), the Moondogs (who were WWF Tag Champs at one time), Tiger Chung Lee, and Val Venis to name a few. I wonder if they upset Vince somehow and that's why they were demoted? Even as a jobber, I still wouldn't want to face Iron Mike Sharpe at any point in his long career! Frankie Williams, on the other hand, would be fun to work a match with! I'm sure he'd sell whatever and whenever you wanted him to!

Jim Cornette and many others were afraid of Iron Mike because he was a real Obcessive Compulsive. He got locked in a arena. He was taking a two hour shower, meanwhile everyone left and locked the doors.Erratic behavior made him a bit scary.
The reason wrestlers went from Main Eventers to low & mid card guys is simply the fans got sick of them. Moondogs' matches were always the same.Dolph Zigler went from World Champion to comedy relief.Sad really.
Frankie Williams must've been a good worker. He was around for along time.

Yeah, Frankie was around for a good long time. He must have loved what he was doing though!
Too bad Vince didn't give him just ONE push, it would've been something to see Frankie have a win streak!

Wow, thanks for finding those! Frankie was pretty fast there, surprisingly! Watching now as I type this. Yeah a bit more training and weight-lifting, Frankie could have made a better go at his career!
I don't know if he wrestled elsewhere. Let me see if Wikipedia knows...
Nothing on Wiki. Maybe OnlineWorldofWrestling?
Not much on him, just that Piper beat him up, LOL!

Well I believe the Harley Race match was in JCP territory. It was from 83.Race hadn't jumped ship yet.
The George Steele match was good.He didn't get pummeled. It looked like he had a chance of winning.

They didn't show Crockett's stuff up here till about '85, long after Race left. I did get to see Magnum in his prime on TV, so that was good!
Wrestling from Mid-Atlantic area was on Channel 61 from CT, call letters WTIC! That's where I got the WTIC letters from, haha! What a great channel!

TBS wasn't available up here till '89 (thank you very much, Charter Cable, smh)! We didn't have MTV till 1982, while my friend from Chicopee had ALL the channels many years before!
This is WWF territory up here, so yeah we got WWF on like 3 stations PLUS on USA!
Luckily, WTIC carried the NWA as I said. That was not to be missed!
I used to have a subscription to Pro Wrestling Illustrated about the time of Warrior's win over Hogan, what a great mag!
