This just in from Kelly:
Dr B, Just letting you know what is going on here. The hole has now been dug yesterday and today they are setting footers around it. Looks like cement pouring could be soon! The home may be brought to the property today. We'll see. My dog fell into the 9 ft hole that was dug for the basement last night. He is okay though. He just can't see very well after dark and simply walked right into it. He was rescued this morning when the workers returned this morning. Anything new going on? I saved the email with the URL but so far have not been able to visit it or I would have said hi to everyone. But things seem to really be moving quickly right now so hopefully real soon I can be back. Got to go. Kelly

Note from Kelly:
You are correct, a cement for the basement and crawl space will be poured. Actually just in 2 days the entire hole has been dug, and the support cement has been poured. I am in shock about how quickly things are moving now. Beginning Monday the walls will be put up (for the basement) and the new home will be brought to the property. It sure seems like we are going down the stretch! I can't wait to return to the board to see what everyone is doing. I hear GREAT things! Give everyone my best - they are outstanding, I don't care what anyone else says. ;-) Kelly

Just checking in to see how things are going! I miss you guys and your creativity! I admit I don't see a lot of that right now while in the Camper.
There are some things I have come to appreciate though:
A nice shower - solar showers do work, but NOTHING beats a good shower at home A running toilet. High speed internet. I have always had dial-up and things were slow. I am on my sister's computer right now, while I am visiting today, and there is a world of difference. When my home is set and things are moved in, etc, I am DEFINATELY going to do what I can to have high speed. Just the Online Experience. I miss the chatrooms. I go regularly on one on AOL, but can't now of course. And just chatting with people online. I was not much of a TV person, I'd rather be online than parked in front of the tube.
I did get to see a lot of DVDs though, as you can imagine during this time. The ones that stick out in my mind are: The International, LOve in the Time of Cholera, The Notebook, No Town for Old Men (something like that, Javier Bardem and Tommy Lee Jones are in it), Last House on the Left, State Play, ...anyway, I do recommend all of those. I seen a few turkey's too, but they aren't worth mentioning.
While I have a couple minutes I'll hurry and check out some of the things you guys have been doing!

This in from Kelly:
Dr B, Home update: cement has been poured for the walls for the basement and crawl space and today they removed the molds. Next I believe is pouring cement for the floors...not sure about that though. But in 1 week, they dug the hole, and created walls. The 9 ft high basement will be nice. Also the new home is now on the property. I have been inside of it checking things out. But before it is put on the foundation all of the cement needs to be poured and dried. After the final cement is poured they say it will take 2 weeks of dry weather. So that is where are stand at the moment. Maybe 3 weeks away...maybe 4 more to go. We'll see. I am off today and tomorrow and spending some time here with family rather than be holed up in the Camper. I miss you, friend. Kelly

Update: CONCRETE is what was used, not cement. Those who work in the field will correct you when you mention cement. Everything is done except for the back-fill. There is a trench around the walls at the moment that needs to be filled in with dirt. It has been raining for the past few days though so next week when it is dry they will do that. Then the Contractor is done! And then the job of actually moving the home on top of the concrete walls and then hooking up the electricity and plumbing, etc. So...I am hoping that by mid to late week NEXT WEEK that we will be on that part. We are getting closer, guys! This next week should have some temps around freezing. It will suck in the Camper, but you do what you need to do. I'll post more when I have time. Kelly
